Creating Anni

Anni Levin is an artist, educator, and entrepreneur based in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She grew up on Long Island, where her bedroom walls were once collaged with images from Equus, Horse Illustrated, and Young Rider magazines—an early expression of her lifelong twin passions for creativity and horses.

Her artistic practice spans painting, photography, digital media, ceramics, wood, metal, glass, fiber, and natural and found materials. Guided by curiosity, process, and the belief that making is both a personal practice and a vital life skill, she embraces new approaches with openness—her favorite medium is often the one she has not tried yet.

In addition to her studio work, Anni is the founder of two businesses: a domestic textile consulting company and a wholesale brand specializing in equine products. Both reflect her commitment to sustaining U.S. manufacturing and fostering meaningful connections between makers, materials, and communities.

She holds a BA in Studio Art from Stony Brook University and an M.Ed. in Art Education from Kutztown University. Her graduate thesis explored how hands-on, craft-based creative experiences influence well-being, creative confidence, everyday creative behaviors, and innovative thinking in an increasingly AI-driven world. This research continues to inform her teaching, programming, and creative practice.

Prior to relocating to Bucks County, Anni opened and operated Damm & Steuer, a gallery in Oyster Bay, New York, highlighting American-made artwork, home goods, and gifts.

Now based in Bucks County, Anni is building her art studio as part of an ongoing restoration of a mid-century cottage, preserving the home’s original materials and character while thoughtfully updating the space to support her creative practice.
